A Sweden Manga Collector Was Sentenced for Child Pornography
Simon Lundström, a Sweden manga collector and online translater was sentenced to heavy fines for possession of child pornography. The police found 25 pictures (double copies) in his computer, the court however stated he had 52.
I couldn’t believe it, it’s completely insane. It’s just a comic.
It is the nude pictures of the comic book figures that the Office of the Public Prosecutor is considering having too small breasts. In most of the pictures nothing happens but there is a few in which a sex scene takes place.
I think gore movies are very distasteful, but there are people who watch them. I think Idol is very disagreeable, an indignity against individuals. But it’s important to not prohibit something because we think it’s uncomfortable.

Even though I am not a lolicon I still find this offending when people arrest anime/manga collectors for having material the have fan service scene. It is overall retard to aim their guns at us when REAL child offender are free.
Seriously, does titles like Love Hina really count as child pornography? What do you guys think?

You are mistaken about this, the following:
The so called child porn title includes Confidential Confessions(問題提起 作品集) by Momochi Reiko (ももち麗子), Gravitation (グラビテーション) byMurakami Maki (村上真紀) or Love Hina (ラブ ひな) by Akamatsu Ken (赤松健).
I mentioned those mangas in my own blog entry, since I have them in my bookshelf and thought they ‘maybe’ would under the ‘category’. They have never been mention in the case about Simon.

Some people in the music industry have found out that they won’t get guys that are downloading their music illegally.
What someone was thinking is that possession of child pornography is something much more serious to the police and the Media.
what they figured out was that people whom just download music from torrents and such will probably not get caught since it’s not that serious, but if there where some child porn hidden inside the torrent, then it would be a long time in prison to the person downloading unwanted child porn, when all he wanted was some of the latest hits.
(the same goes for film and gaming industry, but there aren’t much cases of those yet…)
….that is so mess up though….they should be worrying about more important things like the F*cked up weather we’re having around the world because of global warming.

I know, i was only joking. I’m not really interest in loli anyway. If you really think about, arent almost all anime female characters “child” since they are normally still in highschool? So no matter what kind of image you have it will still count as “child porn” if it is a fan service scene…
I also dont get how in most cases people judge if the material you posses is child porn by how flat the female’s chest is….isnt that kind of…mean to women who are grown but flat?…LOL

I really hate when this stuff happens. We have had the same issue here in the US a year or so back. I can’t remember his name, but it ended up the same way. I guess it is better to view than download or buy the stuff.
You forgot to mention Strike Witches ~ as per them, this would also be illegal to have on your computer.

A little update on the case. According to the Facebook group “Stop comics censorship in Sweden” (I’m sorry I can’t provide a link, don’t use FB) Simon has said in it that he has gotten a leave to appeal but no date for it yet.

Just letting you know that Simon’s case haven’t been brought up in the Court of Appeal, I haven’t read anything of it yet. Just various debates about the subject.
UPDATE 2011/01/28 Svea Hovrätt (Svea Court of Appeal) have now had their say and according to the Swedish law, the manga pictures which Simon had in his possession is considered child pornography.
This makes me so pissed off. All this damn censorship.
Korea’s dumb laws also put manga in the child porn. It really sucks.
