PS3 Lastest Break Down Caused by a Bug

March 2, 2010

Ever since school has started in January I have been too busy with school work to play my PS3 (I really need to finish my Blazblue game too…), and apparently while I was gone PS3 just recently had a huge breakdown.

The symptom include:

  • The system’s date is reset to 2000/1/1.
  • The system can no longer connect to the Internet/PSN.
  • Local trophy data is lost.
  • Save data is lost.
  • Many games will no longer run offline or on.
  • At its most severe the machine will only return “error 8001050F.”

The problems are said to be caused by a bug that is located in our PS3 clock program…thingy… (LOL “thingy” [>.<])

Sony also warned us users who haven’t turned on our PS3 recently not to turn it on until they fix this to prevent permanent lost of data (saved games etc).

Also, since this is only happening to the “fat” PS3, fans are starting to think that this whole “breakdown” is just Sony’s way of advertising the new PS3 slim.

Right now Sony is trying all they can to fix this problem, and I sure hope they do it fast.  I don’t want those Xbox 360 fanboys to have something to say about our beloved PS3!

NOTE: THIS IS JUST IN!!  SONY JUST STATED THAT THE BUG SUDDENLY FIXED ITSELF AND ALL SYSTEM SHOULD BE RUNNING FINE NOW!
